JAC Day 3

The team was supposed to wake up at 6am this morning, and start eating their breakfast by 6.30am latest so that they have got enough time before their first game at 9am. Geok Mei the sports trainer and me had done the "Maria" duty of buying breakfast food (bread, banana, apples, muesli bars, the night before, at the nearest Giant supermart, which was a good 15-20 mins walk away, further than the supermart at the basement of the nearer Parkson superstore, as we couldn't be sure if we could get enough bread for everybody, since their supplies are noted to run low by evening. The food was left in my room and the rooms were supposed to get their food from here after their wakeup.

After all sleepy eyed players got their fill, we set off to Seremban II stadium for the team's first match. With our own outriders!

(I got photo! But loading pix onto blogger.com seems to be quite impossible on wifi here)

We lost our first game to India 0-8. Think the girls were a bit upset at the big scoreline, but considering this is the first big outing for them, thought majority probably handled it quite alright.

Afternoon was spent watching the other 2 teams in our group - Korea and Chinese-Taipei (7-0), followed by 15 mins of China vs Thailand. I was quite surprised at the different standards of the Thailand U21 and their national team, having watched the national team played during the last SEA Games in Dec 07. Hmm..maybe there is hope for our team for the next SEA Games.

Tomorrow we are playing against Chinese-Taipei. There could be a chance for us to score some goals.
