Day 3 BKK

Despite having only about 5 hours of sleep (thks to the phone whose owner forgot to off the alarm at 650am -.-")decided to hit the pool once Grandpa Zhou refused to meet me again..sigh..

But pool was freaking cold at 720am. Was hesistating whether if want to go ahead since already in gear, or give up..but well..wtf. Dived headlong into the pool and IT WAS FREAKING *&%(*)^ COLD!!!!!!!! Ended up cant breathe properly cos gasping everything I go back into the water. So only did 10 laps. Brrr...

After a later-than-scheduled breakfast, it was heading to the tailor (damage 3 pants, 1 skirt and 1 shirt only 200+). And meeting Lil, Junzi and xiu at Siam to have lunch and then to the stadium.

Drumming up to go

Since she had already been here for a few days earlier, Qiao's group had checked out a couple of places already. And it was to another nice eating place next to Siam Center (why my blog macham become foood blog already..)

It's called Nua Papaya Salad.

Apparently a lot of accolades.

Pretty hip place that sells thai food.

While waiting for lunch..

Thai iced tea.

Finally, food!

This fried chicken is super nice!!! We tau par 2 packets of this and another pork sausage to the games venue..

This fish only cost S$4

Sticky rice that taste like 糯米饭。颗颗晶莹剔透..yumm....

Guessed we were to engrossed in the food that we nearly almost forgot the time to leave the place in time to catch the coach from Lil's hotel. But we were lucky..the taxi drive sent us to the place in record time :) Then it was an hr's ride to the games venue...ZzzzzZzzZZzzZ..
Finally reached! There was 1 hour to kill ..super boring -.-"
And then Chin and Kim Choo came with a big bag "otak" - big in the sense that there was this big bag of the, and big cos it's super long that it was actually really a full arm's length long! It wasn't meant for us as Chin's Thai friend (another hockey player from her era) bought them and told Chin to give to our players. So hospitable!~

Super long otak

It's actually some glutinous rice with coconut. Nice! Sharing with guat on the first one, but I had another one by my own later

Er...yeah, it wasn't meant for us but not that we care :p

Both teams doing the last ra-ra before starting.

The full game score was 1-1 draw..it was quite a roller-coaster game..gek sim..

Singapore's last short corner in the last min of 2nd half. Horn went off. Deciding last ball to decide our fate. But alas....didn't covert.

Btw we had 9 or 10 short corners, about 3 attempted shots on goal, and 1 conversion.sigh...........................

So it's left to Msia and Thai (both ladies' and men's game today to decide our guys and girls will make it to the finals.
Knowing that our fate is left in other people's hands really doesn't feel good.

Day 2 BKK

Continuation from the gym. After everybody finally got ready, we headed to Bkk for quick lunch and it was rushing to On-Nut Station to meet Kaew, who will be driving us to Queen Sikirit Sports Complex.

On-nut was the last last stop. We were laughing at the commercial screened on the mobile tv all the way.

Followed by 1 hour drive to the next province at Pathum Thani Province (not neighbourhood ok...it's PROVINCE..)

We finally reached..

Grabbing snacks for the game at the most happening corner of the sports complex.

SIN girls warming up

Lining up before the game

All ready to start

Sigh..Unfortunately, it was 0-5 to M'sia. After that it was the guys' match against M'sia as well.

It's a bad day for us. The guys lost to M'sia as well, 7-1. But umpiring sucks!! BLEH! -.-
After that Kaew sent us back to Bangkok City at Sukhumvit to pick up Qiao's stuff and also look for dinner. Qiao recommended this place that her group checked out while they were there - Gallery Eleven. Real cool old Thai style place!

From outside

复古pushcart

The menu

Found that that there were a few animal friends around us

猪大哥was helping to take care of the serviettes

兔小弟was watching us silently from the back

兔小弟closeup

The food finally arrived!! And lots of them!!

They came in quaint little tiffin carriers

Ah xiu acting cute

Wanted to check out Vertigo, which was strongly recommended by CK, especially since jun zi is going back the next day.So dragged our shaggy body out of the apartment. And it was worth the effort! Imagine overlooking bangkok city lights at 59th level, feeling the breeze (which I secretly hoped that it wasn't smog accumulated from pollution, but that then would have spoiled the mood, so I decided to be blissfully ignorant :p)
BKK city night light

And guess what I ordered? :)))

And it was another night of snoozing once I hit the pillow..ZzzzZZzzZzz

1st Day BKK

It is now 7.20am, Sunday 9 Dec.

I am supposed to still be sleeping, or just waking up, cos wanted to hit the gym at 8am (thailand time). But idiot me forgot to synchronise my phone with local time, so the phone alarm rang one hour earlier.

So updating while for waiting for Guat so that we can go gym together.

Anyway..didn't sleep in the end from last morning, and ended up crapping with one of the night owls online. Had been quite wakeful (must be the training during the shifts..) until we hit the road. It is so rare that I get to be the backseat passenger that I decided to stretch out my legs and took a snoozer.. (and I am still paying the price for not sleeping..@_@)

ZZzzzZZZzzzZzz.......

Airport..

After settling all the stuff, joined my brother and michelle at BK, decided to try my wifi connection (yes, cy..I didn't do the crazy thing and check in my lappie)

I am perfectly wifi functional!!

Followed by a long walk to Gate C26.

And on the right, you see another Nintendo DS addict on the loose..

Playing with MP3 player. At least something that doesn't need brainwork.

It was meeting Grandpa Zhou all the way until the plane touched down in BKK. Then realised that this was going to be the first time I will be hitting the new BKK airport.

The airport had the industrial raw look..genuinely unfinished??

The main reason for the trip SEA Games 2007

From the outside of the airport. You can actually see people on all 4 levels. A bit surreal, like looking at a doll house.

Our apartment : Somerset Park Suanplu

This much anticipated place was recommended by CK. Supposedly very good. And it's true to it recommendation! (and price..). My amatuerish pictures are below, but check out the website(I was drooling over it since after checking out the website during the planning stage of this trip)

The lobby. Christmas is so near..

Our abode for the next 6 days

And upon opening the door..checkout the living room!

The kitchenette on the right side. Comes with stove, fridge, microwave, OVEN (I mean, what apt will provide an oven??!!)

The masterbed room with adjoining bath room with tub (I did take photo for the 2 single-beds room..but cant find after downloading :p my phone and lappie are conspiring together more nowadays..)

Anyway my room has also an adjoining bathroom (but without tub :/)

Then it was out to look for food after scouring the internet to check location of the games venue. Central Silom Complex and Robinsons is nearby across the Saladaeng BTS so we went to check that out as well (顺便嘛..).
Not not impressed :/ Was more impressed when we chanced onto a shoe shop on our way back..hiakhiak..

And we ended up with 7 pairs of shoes between the 3 of us

Woohoo~!

Another angle if you cant see our 收获品very well..hehe..

After that it was washing up and moping around..before quick napping..

Two lappies watching the tv..

Jun zi finally popped by with her thai friend Kaew (kawaii!!), who brought us to Suan Lam night market.

I love going to the local places for food, thinking of trying their road side stall again to test the resilience of my tummy..

Btw I did receive the taunting mms on the potluck which I missed..darn!!

It was shopping along all the smalle alleys after dinner. After which we finally declared we cannot make it already and went to do some foot pampering

2 blissful gals and 1 triple whopper who refused to look at the cam :p

Grabbed a cab back and then it was home sweet home (and bed sweet bed!)
And of course, the panda went to the gym this morning and survived. It is now 9.30am after I clocked 30 mins run and did some conditioning. Alone..cos someone still snoozing -.-"

Today will be a SIN vs MAS for the ladies and the men's. (I dont think you all us "Majullah!" anymore?) GO SINGAPORE!!

Pre-Bkk

It's 2.20am.

Just done packing for BKK. Supposed to leave home in another 2 hours time..and still thinking

(i) should I bring my lappie (hmmm...)
(ii) whether if bringing running gear is a good move (I only have next week before IPPT. Blame myself for not doing it just after season ended *procrastinator!!* But..but...what if there are no space for new clothes????)
(iii) whether if I should try sleep...and risk being super stone when I have to wake up at 4am

I must try to remember my shopping list
(i) vintage t-shirt for Sis
(ii) fisherman pants for Ms Donut
(iii) some made-in-thai handphone for ex-shifu
(iv) greyhound shirt for QF

This has been quite an amazing week, hadn't had much sleep since last sat (or maybe even earlier than that). Heard the new song by Take That "Rule the World", the OST for Stardust. Had to put it on :)

Ms Donut : HELP!!!

I am so angry.

Wanted up upload photos from sat's bowling game last night, but when downloaded photos from my phone, I selected to delete the photos from the memory (which was what I usually do anyway). And after that I cant find the photos in my picture folder (which was the default folder whenever the photos auto save).

Panicked and tried to search through all folder with whatever search options I can think of. To no avail.

Tried again today and opened up the photowell..and they were there!! But then the Photoalbum SE has lasted beyond its trial period (but it's not my fault that I didn't. Tried everytime and the stupid program will show unable to connect site).

The only thing to do now is to wait for Adobe to get back to me..argh...anggweeii!!!

Maybe ask Ms Donut, since if I dont forget wrongly, she uses the same phone as I do..
