The weekend is good! :)

Exciting Sat..thanks for everybody's help! Starting from
-Faith for her patience and unwavering help in teaching us (must have been quite gek sim esp when you had to come around and make sure our friends 能像人样得走出你的家!hahahaha~)
- All the people during the practise for their encouragements and help throughout all these weeks of practises
- Good friend louise who sacrificed her precious weekends with hubby for the practises and for agreeing to be the star on stage :)
- Everybody who came to support or sent in their wishes despite not being able to come.

Tiring but fun-filled Sun (albeit regretted the late lunch which almost made me puke during the game =.="), with much-missed fun during those after-game dinners (right ms kelloggs chew??muahahahah~)

How I wish the weekend can last forever :p

Interpretation of Art

Dialogue, Amara Mohand
Olympic Park, Seoul

We should talk

Yea, we should

I think I know where are you coming from, but you dont understand what I am saying

Why dont you put yourself in my shoe?

I did. But I don't agree with you.

You never agree with me anyway.
.
.
.
.
.
Two different realms of world crashing into nothingness.

p.s. That's what I like about art. All up to the interpretation. If there is ever a chance, I will put up the artist interpretation of this piece. If there is ever a chance (and of course, if I ever feels like it :p)

Fairy in the Woods

A little fairy was walking through the woods
In the misty morning
she breathes in deep
and wonders why the trees stopped talking
Was it the chilly winter wind,
having robbed the trees of their precious leaves
Or were her ears numbed from the cold
and blocked off those precious sounds
of the rustling bare branches
She tightens her woollen scarve
and wish for the spring to come soon

Revisit of an old injury

I pulled my back again :(

After 2 week of hiatus (rushing to complete work before korea trip - korea - back to SG), played against Theresians on Sun. I remember the exact moment when I pulled it - 2nd half when I was going to shadow Mathiah and was trying to channel her to the side. Felt a pull and decided to pull back a little instead of lunging. But damage done. What felt like a slight discomfort developed into full blown agony by morning after a bad night's sleep, exerbated by the cold aircon in the office.

Been a good start to the season..didn't really train much but somehow Double X really helped. Quicker pickup, lasted longer, no longer felt sluggish. Should have been more consistent last season and 乖乖 take 2 times a day, and save myself the horrible feeling.

But of course, never train means never train lah..which is why the muscle pulled from the lack of use :p

Now I walk like a penguin, takes about 1 minute to straighten when standing up from the chair, and grouchier and crankier than usual. Somehow this time it's worse, cos I can feel the strain even when sitting down. Age really catching up I guess.

Contemplating of getting OTO e-cell..wonder if it will help..

In the meantime, its icing and stretching and icing and stretching and icing..more protein, calcium, vit C..and of course, groaning and being cranky :(

Pre-lude to Korea!

Korea~ :D

This may be my bible for the next few days!

Was figuring out what clothes to bring, enough to look presentable for 5 days, and yet warm enough.

So pulled out whatever long sleeve/woolly stuff that I had. Ended up trying all the pieces through layering for different looks. Spent a good 2 hours just to decide what clothes to bring! And I havent even start on the shoes yet :s nah..I had a good idea which pairs I wanted to bring. That one should be easy :p

So the final shortlisted lucky few pieces that will get to fly to Korea ;)

Anyway pulled out something that I received years ago, but never had the chance to wear. It didn't go with any of my clothes, so I was about to return it to the cupboard, then I was re-considering if it can serve as a inner piece, so then was checking for the label to know what it's made of.

And it's made of lyocell.

100% it says. Ignore the "made-in-china" tag. Even my oh-so-Americanized-Coach pouch comes from there now.

Then I was like ..WTH is lyocell?? Lycra + er...cells?

And of course, help came in the form of google.com..and it turned out that I wasn't too far off in my guess.but never would I have thought they originate from wood pulps.

http://www.lyocell.net/-
"Lyocell is produced from cellulose, the main material in plant cells, and constitutes a new fibre for clothing, hygiene, medical and technical applications. The production process for Lyocell is extremely environmentally friendly – the fibre has all the advantages of a natural material and is 100% bio-degradable."

It seems like everything is bio-degradable nowadays.

Signify a time that consumerism has moved so fast that we cannot afford to keep things now, since ->
Consumerism = people buying more stuff = people throwing more stuff = stuff cannot disintegrate = they pile up = there are no place to place them = to destroy them will release stuff that hurt the envirnoment.

It is not too long a history when I still see the pragmatism of my grandparents and sometimes parents of storing plastic containers, bit and pieces of loose ends, leftovers, thinking that they will come in useful some day.

How fast time has changed. So transient.

Anyway, I shall just bring this new piece of lyocell and try out if it can ward off cold :))

女人节!

Happy belated Women's Day! :D

Well..it was already a few days late..but good stuff are worth the wait! Right? (trust a woman to come up with this kind of 歪理...)

But anyway, thanks to Mei..we got to gatecrash the party for women on Int'l Women's Day!

Singapore Council of Women's Organisation 's Bash. The same organisation who hosted the movie "Pink Paddlers"

The lineup for the night

Cheap drinks! but even cheapo party-er..I jutst went in for the free flow drinks and wine :p But come to think of it, Ishould have just paid for the lychee..

Pic snitched from Jessica's album in Facebook. (Jessica brought a really cute boy boy who look like he belonged to 飞轮海..check out the boy boy in pink on the left..hahahah! )

And that was the point after which it was free flow drinks! Slurp!

I was sober..but I donno why I took this crap picture.

It has been a while that I got the chance to play..but it was fun! As usual the company was more interesting than the music though. 陈传之was there too..should have taken photo together with him and Dolly!
Intestingly, I thought my HTC Touch phone cam was pretty lousy.but the photos turned out pretty well huh? :))
3 more days to KOREA!!Yay!

Random thoughts for a gloomy Thurs

The bird of paradise reaching skyward, not knowing its foolishness in trying to break through to freedom

The smashed strawberry - lending itself to its own misery by the wrong hands.

The paradox of regret, in choosing the red pill, ending up staring at the bottomless rabbit hole, wishing for the blue pill instead.

Tong Soi

It's been a while since I had tong soi..港式糖水! I missed the times when my dad would bring us to this tong soi place in Chinatown next to Maxwell Market(closed down long ago..).
After a hearty dinner at Beach Road steamboat -
(to make up for missing much of breakfast and lunch and shivering in cold rain for most part of the day in the name of hockey)
(and a day of bruises..I thought the count ended last night..but just found out this morning that I had a super big bruise on the outside of my right ankle, and I didn't even know how i got that!)
ZA suggested tong soi..which sounded like a jolly good way to end the day even though most of us were groaning from super full stomach :D So we trooped off to Liang Seah St just round the corner

Go figure the name of the shop..

杨枝干露 - actually I never register this as cantonese tong soi..cos it didn't exist during my childhood days of sesame paste and peanut paste :/ But this version had coconut milk, which the rest said shouldn't be inside.

Table full of desserts..I think we didn't eat like girls that night :p

Boring traditional me having my childhood favourite - sesame paste!
But lose to the one I had when I was a kid :(

The shop had other stuff which caught my eyes..this looks like a shop of curios.

I think I am quite set to start looking for good sesame paste places...

The Leap Year

On 29 Feb 2008, I've asked :

That we continue to walk together

To learn and understand each other, and

To see beyond all the layers, and

Love each other for what we truly are
